Ant Pest Control in Dubai

Spraying the ant trail kills the workers you can see. The colony survives, splits, and the trail is back within days. Gel bait targets the colony directly — workers carry it back and feed it to the queen and brood. That's the only method that actually ends it.

Why ant control in Dubai is different

In temperate climates, ant infestations are seasonal. In Dubai, they aren't. Year-round warmth and constant AC condensation mean ant colonies are active 12 months a year — and the most common species (Ghost ants) are small enough to travel through gaps in window seals, around pipe penetrations, and through AC drainage lines.

Most residents try spray first. It works for a few days. Aerosol insecticide kills the workers it contacts, but the colony doesn't die — it fractures. When a colony senses chemical attack, it can split into multiple sub-colonies, each with its own queen. You started with one ant problem; now you have three.

Ant species in Dubai — which one you have matters

Ghost ants (Tapinoma melanocephalum)

The most common ant in Dubai apartments. Tiny (~1.5mm), almost translucent white abdomen, dark head. Colony typically has multiple queens and can number in the thousands. Extremely difficult to eliminate with spray. Enter through AC condensation drainage lines, utility penetrations, and gaps in window seals.

Pharaoh ants (Monomorium pharaonis)

Slightly larger than Ghost ants (~2mm), yellow-brown. Also multi-queen and similarly resistant to spray-based treatments. Common in older buildings. Pharaoh ants are medically significant in hospital settings — residential infestations are mainly a nuisance but require the same gel-bait approach.

Red fire ants (Solenopsis invicta)

Larger (~3–6mm), reddish-brown, painful sting. More common in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and villa gardens than in apartments. Mounds appear in garden soil. Require outdoor bait application + mound treatment — different from indoor ant protocols.

What you get

  • Species identification — Determines which bait formulation is most effective (species have different food preferences)
  • Entry point identification — We trace the trail back to entry points (AC drain, window seal, pipe penetration)
  • Gel bait application — Applied at entry points, trail routes, and kitchen harborages. Do not clean for 7–10 days
  • Entry point sealing — Seal AC drainage penetrations and visible pipe gaps
  • 90-day warranty — Free re-treatment if ants return within 90 days

How treatment works

1. Trail inspection (10 min)

We follow the trail to identify entry points and species. This determines the correct bait formulation — Ghost ants and Pharaoh ants have different protein/carbohydrate preferences, and the wrong bait is ignored.

2. Bait application (20–30 min)

Pinhead-sized dots of gel bait placed at entry points, along active trails, and in kitchen/bathroom harborages. You'll see more ant activity for 24–48 hours as workers find and consume the bait — this is the treatment working.

3. Entry point sealing

AC drainage line gaps, window seal cracks, and pipe penetrations sealed with pest-proof foam. This is what prevents re-colonisation after the current colony is eliminated.

Frequently asked questions

Why is gel bait better than spray for ants?
Spray kills workers on contact but doesn't reach the colony. The colony can have hundreds of thousands of ants in walls or AC drainage — spray doesn't touch them. Worse, spraying often causes the colony to split. Gel bait travels through the colony's own food-sharing behaviour and kills the queen and brood.
My ants keep coming back every few months. Is that normal?
If you're using spray or over-the-counter baits, yes. The colony survives and rebuilds each time. Professional gel baiting plus sealing your AC drainage penetrations should eliminate recurrence permanently. If ants return within 90 days of our treatment, we re-treat free.
Is gel bait safe around children and pets?
Yes. The bait is applied in tiny quantities in enclosed spaces (inside cabinets, behind appliances). The active ingredient is present in concentrations far below hazardous levels. DM-approved for residential use.
How long until the ants are gone?
You'll see more ants for 24–48 hours as workers find the bait. The trail should shrink by day 5–7 and disappear by day 10–14 as the colony collapses. Ghost ant colonies are large — some take 3–4 weeks for complete elimination.
