Rodent Control in Dubai

Traps alone don't work. Rodents re-enter through the same gaps within days unless you seal every entry point. Our rodent treatment includes exclusion work — blocking the drain access covers, AC unit voids, and utility risers that mice and rats use to enter Dubai properties.

The rodent problem in Dubai apartments and villas

Rodents in Dubai properties are almost always an entry-point problem. The warm climate, abundant food waste, and irrigation infrastructure around residential communities create ideal conditions — but the reason they end up in your flat or villa is typically one unsealed gap: a loose drain cover, an AC unit void with a missing cover, or a gap in a utility access panel.

In Deira and Bur Dubai, aging drainage infrastructure means rodents enter from shared sewer lines through corroded drain covers. In villa communities like Arabian Ranches or JVC, they enter from the garden perimeter through gaps at the base of walls or utility access hatches. The treatment is different in each case, which is why we inspect before recommending.

Mice vs rats — different treatment approach

House mice (Mus musculus)

Small (~8cm body), grey-brown, pointed nose. Nesting inside properties — in wall cavities, behind appliances, under kitchen units. Reproduce very fast: a pair can produce 60+ offspring in 3 months. Snap traps + bait stations + exclusion of entry gaps under 10mm diameter.

Roof rats / Norway rats

Larger (~20cm body), travel along pipes and drainage. Roof rats are agile climbers and enter from roof access points and drainage penetrations above ground level. Norway rats burrow and enter from below. Both require different placement of bait stations and different exclusion approaches.

"We've seen villas where the owner has been catching rodents for months but they keep coming back. Every time: the drain access cover in the garden was missing its seal. One 30-minute exclusion job and the problem stops permanently."

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I have mice or rats?
Mice leave small (~3mm) dark droppings, fine scratching sounds at night, and gnaw marks on packaging. Rats leave larger (~15mm) droppings, louder movement, and often enter from drains or bin areas. Both are visible at night when populations are large. We'll confirm from a photo.
Do you just set traps, or do you seal entry points too?
We always do both. Traps catch what's inside the property; exclusion sealing stops re-entry. Without sealing the entry points (drain access covers, AC voids, utility gaps), you'll catch rodents indefinitely. Sealing is included in our rodent treatment.
Is rodent bait safe if I have children and pets?
Bait stations are tamper-resistant — only a rodent can access the bait inside. We place them in areas inaccessible to children and pets (behind appliances, inside utility voids). We'll show you exactly where each station is placed.
How long does it take to eliminate rodents?
For mice, 7–14 days with trapping + bait. For rats with established pathways, 2–4 weeks. Exclusion work is the critical variable — properties that are sealed see permanent elimination; properties with unaddressed entry points see re-infestation.
