- Bite marks — Usually in lines or clusters on exposed skin. Appear overnight. Not all people react (20–30% have no visible reaction).
- Blood spots on sheets — Small rust-coloured stains from crushed bugs or post-feed droppings.
- Brown specks on mattress seams — Excrement. Look along the piping seams and under button tufts.
- Live or dead bugs — 1–7mm, flat, oval, reddish-brown. Engorged bugs are more rounded and darker.
- Sweet, musty odour — A distinct scent from heavy infestations. If you smell it before you see them, the infestation is significant.

How the treatment works
1. Inspection (~15 min)
We inspect mattresses, headboards, sofa frames, skirting, and upholstered furniture. UV-assisted scan identifies severity and spread. We'll tell you honestly whether the mattress needs disposal (rare) or can be treated in place (usual).
2. Treatment day 1 (~60–90 min)
Steam treatment on all mattress seams, sofa joints, and headboard surfaces — kills adults and eggs on contact with no chemical residue on sleep surfaces. Targeted residual insecticide on hard surfaces. You need to vacate treated rooms for 4 hours.
3. Follow-up visit (day 14) — non-negotiable
Re-inspection and second light treatment. Bed bug eggs incubate for 6–10 days. Without this visit, the second generation hatches after your initial treatment and the infestation rebuilds. This is why competitors' single-visit treatments fail.

- Do not throw away the mattress — it almost never needs disposal and won't solve the problem (bugs live in the frame, not just the mattress)
